Hi folks, It's late at night. I try to wait till it's really late so I can archive the message board without frtustrating too many people. In order to do so, I wait till almost mid-month. Then I make the entire 40 pages or so of the previous month (November, in this case) one great big page, so that it can be saved as an archive. If you visit the site at this time, you won't likely be a happy visitor (unless you have DSL!). But it should only take a half hour or so. If you are having problems tonight, Tues around midnight... it's because I'm archiving November. Try back in a half hour, and all should be well! Thanks! Michelle

She is as sharp as a tack;) She wont steer ya wrong.

BB,
Way I hear it Kaden is TAKEN. So Keep looking:)LOL
Kaden lives in Tennessee not far from Snoozier:)

Hey Lewis,
PEEK-A-BOO:)LOL

Tammy,
Sounds to me that you need to try and clean your computer or you have a program conflict that messes with your netscape. Now the server maybe a problem but the freezing comes from your p.c. If you delete the things you don't want anymore and scan disk and disfragment and it still don't help... I would say start running the programs 1 at a time and see if one affects the computers operation. EX: start windows by itself. then add yahoo. add AOL if you have it this was my program flaw. I had to acutally delete it to help my p.c. What about ICQ???? Hope this helps and if not I am sorry I mentioned it:)LOL

Good news about the hole in the heart too:)

Jackie,
YOU'RE PRETTYFUL:)

Robin,
Please pass on our Congratulations to the new parents and send them our way;) The more the merrrier. BTW......
How is the kids?????

Girl I would watch anything he nibbles:)LOL Your shoulder. Your ears. It was always my chin. The table legs. ANd by the sounds he is getting very mobile even at a roll. Get your sneakers out and get ready for the marathon to start:)
Give him a hug from us please:)

Steff,
Give Prettyful a big hug and get her primping in the mirror on camera:) Her reflection in the mirror with her expressions must be priceless:)
Does this also mean that LIV is marrying a DENTIST?????

Well today was my final:)
Yep I have offically finished math 0304:)LOL
I have to sign up for 0306 in a couple days , after my grades hit the computer saying I passed, But..... I dont go back til Jan. 14th:) A whole month to forget what I just learned:)LOL.

Thank you for your prayers. Sarah had her surgery to repair her AV canal defect yesterday. The surgery went very well and she looks great. They are going to try to wean her off the respirator tonight. It is strange to see her without mottled skin and she isn't sweating. I can hardly wait for her to be fully recovered. She is such a sweet baby.

Hi guys!!!!! I have all my shopping done!!!! I can't believe it. I am usually the last min. kind of person.Well Bethany did great playing the piano at church. I was so proud. Rebekah is doing fine and really enjoying all the lights and things this year.
STEFF- Bethany thanks for your comments on the girls.Bethany really loves her sis and is at times a little jelous of the attention that Rebekah gets. I think it would be that way even if she did not have ds. Little ones just get that extra attention from family and even strangers. We try to make up for some of it though.Bethany always tells people that Rebekah has ds and what it is and how she is just like everyone else. She is great.
SHERI- I am sorry if I got your name wrong. Man I sure hate hear that about your school closing. I will pray for you.God does have a plan even if it is not clear to you right now. His will, will be done and all will work out. But I will pray for you and the teachers and all the kids.
Well I better go. Rebekah is being way to silent and that usually means she is drawing on the wall. That is new thing. When she sees me coming she throws down the color and say "look, oh no" like she is not the one who it. Very clever, don't you think.LOL bye for now

Dear Friends,
I need a Christmas miracle and lots of prayers! Our little school is about to be closed down! We served 60 children (grades k-8) in our school. About a month ago, a private school opened up in the area and offered scholarships for several children. Eleven children accepted scholarships, so our enrollment dropped to 49, and our funding went with them! We have until the 21st of December to raise $50,000!!!! Our teachers have been let go and the children will be transferred to another local school. Not all of the teacheres will be rehired! Although my job is safe, I will be relocated to a new campus and will have to SHARE a room with another class!
I know this will greatly affect my program and the children in it. I am sooooo sad! Please say a prayer for my little school! Oak Tree Community Charter School is in a very low income area and raising the money to keep us open will only happen if a miracle takes place. I know that God is in the miracle business. . .please pray for us. Thanks for listening friends,
and Merry Christmas to you all!
Love, Cheri

BOO HOO , :-( did it again.
I was in chat yesterday ad just as I was getting into the swing of things, BANG, my server custs me off. My Netscape freezes and messes up everything.
By the time I could get back on....... Everyone had gone !!!!!
Not happy, seems like I will never get a good go at chatting with Ya'all.
Anyways, Life goes on. Lewis has learned a few more part tricks this week. He is using his own hands to cover his eyes for peek-a-boo,(His favourite game), and if you ask "Where is Lewis' head,, he puts both hands on his head, pats it a few times then claps hands cause he thinks he is clever.
I reckon he is pretty clever too.
The cardiologist has given him the all clear. Seems the hole in his heart has grown over like they said it would. It wasnt going to be a problem anyway, aparently it was so tiny the only reason they found it was cause they were looking for it. If he was any other child he would have lived his life never even knowing it was there.
Anyways, must be going now.
Bye for today !!
Tam.

Hi Ann, I am mom to Chase who is nine and in the third grade. My suggestion to you is to call the special ed director for your school district, and if you dont know who it is, call the local intermidiate school district and ask. then tell that person about your concerns and that they have been ongoing, and tell them you think the school is in violation of Joshua's IEP. He/she should get on it right away as that is illegal. Goodluck, and btw, welcome to our uno family, you will meet a bunch of great and wise people here!
Guess what? I got a call from the superintendent's secretary today, her son just had a baby and they have found out he has DS! So I am taking her my babies with DS book and she is going to pump mybrain for info she said.....Hmmmm, that was not a good way to phrse that so you guys be nice, LOLOL!
Got to go put groceries away, yuck,
hugs,

Hello, I'm new and I've got a problem with education. This has been an ongoing problem for several years.Yes we have a EIP every year, But they just won't follow through. The teacher only wants to do self help skills. Self help skills is great but my son can read and write. Not at his age level, but he works hard at it and he WANTS to learn. If it wasnt for his aid working with him, he would'nt be doing anything at school. How can I help him to get more help?

Hi Everybody,
Well, I bought the kids Shrek for Christmas but decided to give it to them now so they would give me a bit of peace so I could compute on the computer, LOL, but alas, they are not thrilled with it I guess, it held their attention about all of five minutes, sigh... I knew I should of given them The Grinch!
Steffy, thank you for reminding me about those flouride drops, when I go for Chase's med eval I am going to ask for them for his bad butt :-) As we speak he is making Zach scream at the top of his lungs, ahhh, brotherly love is special! LOL!!
CC, I thik we should share Suzi's SMIL, ok??? And instead of a long leather coat, we get two short leather coats, what do you say?
I have changed Chase's med amounts and even though it has only been two days, and I expect to have to wait to see a difference in his behaviors (cross your fingers) he is today eating us out of house and home, can you believe it? I am feding him as fast as possible, this is wonderful (for a child who is nine and weighs 44 lbs)
OK, they are not going to straighten up on their own, time for some mom intervention, you all have a great Sunday and I will see you in chat ok?
hugs,
Robin

Lost my long long post...WAAAA :(....I'll try again with much less fervor...:)

Allisa...I must say I loved reading your post about Erin...I think we take the same approach to our kiddos. I agree with you it would not be fair to Erin letting her scream at the table...You WILL appreciate your patience later on when she can sit at a table nicely and EVERYONE can enjoy a meal together...AND the part about signing MINE..LOL...Sometimes ya gotta just sit back and take your own "time out" LOL to see what they are trying to express.hee hee ;0...I think that all the time that I hope Liv can be patient with me too.I wanna see a new picture of ERIN!!!!!!!

Jill...Love the shots of your girls. You can tell they really love each other. Your oldest reminds me of my niece McKenna...I like the one on the swing...:)How old is your oldest and what does she think bout Rebekkah?I'm just being a Mrs. Kravitz...I always wonder if Kyle weren't only a little over a year older than Olivia how he would react to Liv and in which way their relationship would be different...

JACKIE...WTG EM..5th place...AND the diet too...Good job.I do NOT have that kind of self control....Obviously Jackie your words are sinking in nicely and Em is listening... AND ELVIS you better stop letting the Big Mac secrets out or Cesar may start trying to nudge his way in...lol
I'll see ya in chat tonight I've got 2 kids coming over today so it is time to go.Gotta figure out what to feed em..Mac and cheese??top ramen???LOLOLOL hot dogs???LOLOL!!!Talk to you later

Suzi and Robin, nice chatting girls. Don't forget Suzi send that SMIL of yours this way for awhile, PLEASE, Robin I asked first ;-) LOLOL

Steff, tieing them up always works for me, ROF (only kidding everybody) Both my kids have been on percription Poly-V-Fluoride Viatimins since they were just a few weeks old. Doc here keeps them on till they are 13 then they let us do the over the counter viatimins. Luckily comes in liquid or chewable form casue nooooo way Chris would chew a viatimin. I love these as both kids (knock wood) have great teeth not one cavity :-) Wish when I was a kid they had the Fluoride.

We started Chris in early intevention when he was 2 months old. We went to the Child Center for all therapies, PT, OT, Speech and social. Personally I loved going there vs. them coming to us. Got Chris right into the social and would go to anyone even at that early age. Kodi came along with us and would love to attend. I really believe it helped her become the kind sweet girl she is, to share in being around other children with all types of challanges at her young age. She is 12 now and talks of going into P/T maybe when she grows up along with her actting/singing career, LOL :-) Hmmm a singing PT, works for me. Chris actually didn't seem to get sick from the other kids till he started pre-school at 3. YIKES then it seem like he was getting one thing after another. My good friend is an assistant at school and she said the years she worked in preschool, she herself got more colds and such then any other year. Have to say I just loved getting together with all the Mom's at the center, helped me tons back then. Things have changed much in this area and there is nooo more center to go to :-( All the therapists go to the homes now till the child turns 3 then all is done in pre-school.

Just about 2 weeks now and we are off for Disney. Chirs is ready has his backpack packed and says "lets go" Geez he travels light, LOL Will be very cool to have Christmas Dinner with Mary, Bill and Spencer. I know Mary and Bill are concerned with Spencer flying, say a little prayer guys for our pal Spencer ;-)

Have a great week all

Hi...

Sorry I was late Robin. These children just would NOT cooperate...:(As I turned on the puter your yahoo went offline...WAAAA.Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow...i'll just hafta tie em up...;) BTW Olivia spits out those Flinstones
vitamins everytime...BUT I have started her on the carnation instant breakfast. My brother reminded me about it a few days ago..I remember when he was going thru chemo they had him drink it. She seems to like it..AND its very high vitamins...I don't let her drink the whole serving so that's why we split it

.
Liv started in ei at 5 months. BUT I must say that they were really good about hand washing etc...AND since the kids in the center-based program all had different challenges the parents were REALLY REALLY great bout not sending their sick ones to school.Much Much better than the preschool parents...Liv learned more in that time. Well worth an occasional cold.. believe me...she just blossomed and the teachers taught me so much as well.AND its nice to have your kiddos socialize too.

Okay outta her nighty night...

Hi every body!
Guess what?? My yahoo is back up and working well, all on it's own???? The shakes and withdrawals are gone!!! We had snow here today for the first time since October, the kids were thrilled to death about it, yuck. My belief is that snow is only good for the two weeks surrounding Christmas and New years, and should go away after that. :-)
MARIE........ Congratulations on Jared getting studnet of the month!!!!! What a great kid!!! I know you are happy about that!! Our boys are awesome are they not???
ANNIE....too much snow ??? You got to be kidding, yuck, want to move here to live by us? We would love to have you!!
SUSAN.... a big hell o to your MIL, I bet the kids are thrilled to have her to them selves for so long, will she be there thru Christmas with your family??? Sneak up here and we will go shopping together ok??? :-)
DOLLY..... I think it is you that asked about services for our kids right? Chase got OT, PT and speech from the time he was 8 wks old, dont ask how that can be, LOL. Anyways he started going two and a half hours a day two times a week when he was two and it was wonderful, he bloomed before our very eyes!! I say, go for it, and btw, I swear by flintstones vitamins. We started giving Chase two every day when he started schol and he almost never got sick after that. (yes, he chewed them) We still give them to him and he does really well, especialy since he got his adnoids and tonsils out. Good luck in what ever you choose for your little guy.
STEFF...... So he is off and running again huh??? I am so glad he is feeling well!and hugs to snotty nose and her brother too! (LOL) Ahh, I know what you mean aobu the remote, but here it is a fight with Dave and Chase, I have no chance!
So darling RO.....
where are you????? every thing ok? I am betting your server is having troubles since the rain came, right?hugs to you.
Connie, Chase has had six stes of tubes and I wont be saying thqt it has been awhile since he had a set because if I do, we both know what will happen :-) I hope you guys are all getting better by now.
LORENA, thanks again for the heads up on that miseralbe ex govenor, but if.... I get a secret service at my door for the letter can I send them to you?? LOL kidding, hugs!
ANNIE..... We did miss you bunches, I forgot to say that earlier! :-)
ANNIE>>>> Mikeys' mom, we have to find a new name for you guys, you are both too close, say Annie one and Annie two? LOL, anyways, how is Mikey doing??? I have decided to expirenment with Chase's meds as his behavior cannot get any worse and I have gotten an idea from a lady I met. I'll keep you posted on it, got to get Susan's ideas on it.
ok time to go , and read some more posts, hugs to you guys,
Robin PS... My sons are now telling me peace instead of bye, do you guys remember those days????? LOL!

want to share something....first Katie called and said em didnt bowl very well....something like 5th place....BUT she was having a ball. Seems she was the only one from the team to bowl this morning so the whole team was watching and cheering her on.....Katie said this seemed to make her a bit nervous and the coaches were tripping over themselves to try to help her improve and bowl closer to her average....BUt she wanted no help.....LOL. Katie said the Ruella, one of the coaches who has worked in the field of MR for almost 40 years paid Emily a very nice compliment. She said she was the most responsibile and capable individual with DS she had ever met...that on the trip Emily needed absolutely NO help with anything....that she was very polite and helpful with some of the other athletes. She also said that they went to Luby's for dinner and Emily took only veggies on her plate....when asked about getting something else...Emily said..."No, I am on a diet...this is what is good for me to eat".......and then later when they had cake at the motel...Emily, altho urged to have some, declined....once again because of her diet???????.....then Katie said...Elvis chimed in and said...yea...usually when we go to MacDonalds she just sucks a Big Mac right down!!!!!...too funny. This must be the Jaylo diet.....told yall she wants to look like Jennifer Lopez!.....But I am glad to hear she is having such a grand time....gettin' the old mom outta her face does wonders. I never worry about her traveling alone...she has had all that independence and I think it is paying off. I dont think I ever told yall that she went with the drama club her senior year to NYC......for 5 days she was just one of the group........( that was her first time away in a group of people her age with no disabilities...but she did fine). Katie is going to pick her up tomorrow morning after Elvis bowls and then she will go stay with Katie the rest of the week.....Katie and her family have to go tomorrow afternoon to the Texas governors Christmas Party...dont think em is invited, though. Bet it wont be as exciting this year...last year it was the Bushes right after the election...not even sure I know who the Texas governor is...

Dolly: I started Hayden in early intervention at 3 months. I believe it helped alot. I was also worried about him getting sick. I was not shy about asking the therapists if they washed their hands, toys, therapy balls or whatever before Hayden used them. I also asked for them to please cancel if they are sick. They were very cooperative about this but I did sometimes ask each time I saw them. You have to do what ever you feel is necessary to help your child even if it means that you might seem "overprotective". Hayden started speech really young and it has helped alot. All the therapy and work required to raise our children is often overwhelming and I sometimes end up feeling guilty because I did not do this or that. You have to limit your child's therapies so that you can have a life too. Hope this helps!

hello all! just had a question...at what age did you start your kids in early intervention? My son Eric is 18months old. He has been involved with early intervention in a limited way. Has been evaluted and goes to Pt. and Ot once a week. He had alot of medical problems and wasn't able to participate more. Now he's on the mend and his intervention specialist would like him to come to the school for half day sessions 2x a week. that way he can start speech therapy too. I'm a little wary because he's been sick for so long. But then I don't want him to get anymore behind...any suggestions? Thanks, Dolly

Hi everyone!!!

CONNIE I just read your post. I agree with Linda...if you take away a therapy it's really really hard to get it back...AND here in Los Angeles when you turn 3 the services seem to lessen so I would take all I could get now. Although it could be that your school system is not as overworked and understaffed as ours so in March you could possibly lose 1 therapy if ya wanted.HECK its also what you can handle with the new little one...

RO WHERE ARE YOU???

Jeffs evaluation has been moved to a later date. We got a new packet in the mail yesterday with new appt dates. We called about it and they changed his Jan 7th to Feb 11th. AND they are making it a 5 day eval instead of 3. The coordinator said its cause Jeffs docs called and are hearing some funny sounds from his ticker so.. they want their cardiologist to see him too.and run a few extra tests and such... It really I think is a blessing in disguise as Jeff REALLY wanted to go to the superbowl. This is our bread and butter .I LOVE the superbowl...LOL...AND if he had gotten his beeper before then he would NOT be able to go cause he must be at the hospital within 3 hours of the call from the team. Although we know it would not be that quick I still would NOT feel like Jeff could go cause if by some chance they did he could not make it in 3 hours back to cali and they would drop him like a hotcake from the transplant program.I watched a show the other day on discovery health the other day and saw his docs on it.It was kinda cool. AND I have met quite a few folks on the puter who have had a transplnat from this same team.MAKES ME SMILE BIG :)

Off to the park today its gonna be warm then rainy tomorrow so I gotta get em out while I can.Jeff is gone for the next 10 days(he left last night) so I've got the REMOTE to myself...LOL!!!!He feels much better now...:)

Liv is a snotty mess but doing great. See ya..BYE

I am back again! Linda wanted me to post this poem I told her about. I entered it in a poetry contest (something I have never done before) and got the news that it was in the semi-finalist stage. I don't really think it will go very far but that is alright. I am proud that I actually had the guts to send it in. Here it is.

The Race Toward "Normal"

I try so hard to be with the leader of the pack.
I push and strain to be in the group that is behind
the leader of the pack.

The feeling of being one of them urges me on.
All of my problems of being different would go away.
I'd be one of them. I'd be like them.
We would laugh together and party together.

There would be no more tauntings and certainly not
anymore whispering behind my back.
The feeling of oneness would block out the past.

"Your not different," I say to myself.
"I'm like everyone else," I say to myself.

The gap widens. Fatigue slows me down.
Stopping to rest, I look ahead at the group in
the distance.

I realize I am alone,
alone but unique.

I hope you all like it.
Yes Jackie was there at Amarillo College. I was in Ordway Hall though. Where were you? Did you like the drawing class?

I think Steve has an admirer now. She has dark hair with dark eyes. Call me sometime.

Debbie

Hello all,

Just thought I would let you know that Collin has surgery scheduled to have tubes put in his ears 1/7/02. This seems like a long way away but my only 2 other choices for dates were Christmas Eve or New Years Eve and nether on of them really fit into our schedule.

I also talked to his OT. We decided to keep him at 2x a week since he is running about 3-4 months behind in his fine motor skills. But will review it in March for his yearly meeting.

Prayers for all
Connie

We went to my Godfathers funeral yesterday... It was really nice. BOY do I have a funny family...Liv fell asleep during the service for which I am eternally grateful. THEN after I asked liv to give Afton(my godmother) a hug. She walked up to her put both hands on her cheeks and rubbed em softly and said... AWWW SWEETIE PIE..HUGGY??? gave her a great big HUG. It was too too sweet.

It's supposed to be 80 degrees today so after I take Liv to measure her eyes for the new glasses we are off to the beach...Have a great day...OH BTW TONI...LOLOLOL!!! That's funny bout Lexi giving her toys a time out. Liv does the SAME THING!!!She also gets her beanie baby bears and holds em up by their heads and says...LOOK AT ME BEAR...LOOK AT ME....NO HITTING TIME OUT NOW!!!!!I wish Liv would stay in time out like her bears do...LOL...Can I relate???BYE

Connie - I am betting that they want to drop Collin down to 1x/week cuz they are overbooked.... I am not sure what to tell ya - only that if you give it up, it may be difficult to get back ..... at least you may not get it back all that fast... Personally, what I think is, keep it, if you feel he is benefiting from it in any way -- I know when Adam was 4 years old they convinced me to drop PT cuz they felt that he wasn't going to "learn" any more than where he was at cuz of his "developmental age" -- NOW in retrospect, I KNOW that was the WRONG choice -- it was really just cuz they had just the 1 PT at the school (& she was basically only there Part time for a couple of kids) -- & Adam just didn't really hit it off w/ her - so he resisted her & didn't work all that well with her - I wanted them to do a "group" session - but for whatever reason (no other kids that needed PT that time I guess) they didn't follow thru with that -- took me until Jan last year (a full 2 plus years later) to get his PT up & going again -- & I think maybe NOW he would NOT need it if he had gotten it BACK then.... And now he is pulled out sooooo often from his class that he really could use to have 1 LESS therapy NOW...... So - that -- in a LARGE nutshell is what I think Connie!! LOL!
NITE All!

Debbie - it was nice chatting with you tonight - hope you can stop in again sometime! I will like reading the poem you wrote..... Annie & Kristi - it was fun chatting with you guys too -- it is nice to hear that our kiddos are doing similar things--- behavior-wise - puts my old, troubled, confused mind (the little bit I have left!)at ease !! LOL! Susan - nice to see you too - even tho is was VERY short! LOL! - Sorry I missed ya Lorena....... :(

About e-mailing Kramer & Twitch -- Debbie -- I had the SAME Reservations -- so I opted NOT to send them an e-mail - but just may send a snail mail to them (no return addy)-- maybe with some articles etc about DS -- maybe they could learn something & GROW UP! It is such a shame to see people who are so uncaring about others -- really makes ya think "What is wrong with THEM that they feel the need to poke such fun at others........." -- :(

Ok - it is late - to everyone else - catch ya on the flip side!!

Sorry about the margins. I am not very good at figuring them out. Also, I wrote down those DJ's names and will look up their web site. I don't feel comfortable leaving a message since they would see my e-mail addy. It maybe too late anyway. What do you all think?

Hello everyone. My name is Debbie and I used to post um, a really long time ago! It has been too long!
For the new people here I will re-introduced myself.
As I said, My name is Debbie and I have Down syndrome.
I have Mosaic Down syndrome. When I first came on to this web site I only thought of introducing myself once and move on. I just couldn't do that you know. I
found some really nice, understanding people here. I also found some poets as well! I love poetry. I am a
poet myself.

I am forty one and live with my parents here in Amarillo, Texas. I am the oldest in my family. I have a younger sister with five girls. Their ages are from thirteen to four. I love them all but find them challenging to shop for!

My greatest strengths are reading and writing. I remember falling in love with books after I finally mastered the basics in reading. Now I am reading a bio of Emily Dickinson. She is my favorite poet but I also like W.B. Yeats and Robert Frost. I love to read and I am at home in the library or at Barnes and Noble.
School was difficult but with the support of my parents I preservered and graduated in my class in 1980.

I just wanted to let everyone know I finished my class at our two year college here. It was a Women's Writers class. I started back late in August and finished this last Monday. This time I went back on my own terms and did all the work myself with the exceptions of my editor. My editor is my mother. She helps with the past tense and present tense. I don't have problems with writing it is the little things that I might not catch until later after I finish it.
I am a perfectionist.
I read some of the latest messages and feel like a stranger! Sorry I have not posted in such a long time.

I will try posting a little more frequently now.
Take Care everyone!
Debbie

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I've got to post because between everyone being sick and trying to get our Community Christmas program (serves 1100 families) done for next weeks shoping. I've not even had time to lurk.

But, I have 2 quick questions for you all. First, Collin has to have tubes put in his ears. The doc says she doesn't think he is hearing out of one of them now but, I don't think this is possible because he is talking to well. Do you have any advice or questions I should think about or ask her.

Second, Collin is receiving OT 2x a week (this was his weakest area). His OT called and left a message for me wanting to know if it would be ok to drop it down to 1x a week because he is basically age appropriate (but know were near where my other 2 were at this age)and doesn't feel it is necessary now. I am really torn because yes it would make my life easier (we now have 5 hours of therapy a week) because it would be one less therapy to go to and I am so thankful he is were he should be but, I am also thinking that if he is were he should be now shouldn't we keep pushing him so he doesn't get a chance to fall behind and his therapies through EI will be ending in about 1 year from now anyway? HELP I'm so confused with the holiday season, pregnancy hormones, sick people....CALGONE TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!

Thanks guys
Connie

hello everyone!!! I just wanted to pop in to say hi. Many of you have never seen a picture of rebekah or my 10yr old Bethany. Well thanks to our dear friend Susan(emily's) mother. They are both now in the calander!!!!! Susan offered to do this for me when I meet her a the ds conference in TN. She is so sweet. So everyone need to go check out the pics in Nov. and maybe one dec. already.I need to show them off.You know proud mom and all.
Well I am not sure if what is up me lately. Maybe the sept.11 thing or just this time of year. But I am so down. I am a weepy person anyway and man lately I have been bad. The other day I cried at a comerial on TV.LOL And NO I am not pregant.LOL
Well Bethany is playing the piano at church sunday night for the first time. She is playing "Oh Holy NIght". I am so proud of her. Rebekah is doing well and passed her hearing test this time.Thank God. She is talking alot better now and has a little temper on her.But she is sweet most of the time. When I leave her at school every morning she now says "love you,bye bye" One more thing to make me cry. Well I will stop rambling now. GOd bless you all. JILL

Way to go Marie! Doesn't it feel good to fight to change something, even if it only took one letter. I read the article and the thing that irked me the most is them saying that people with DS only progress to the age of 8 years old. I am so glad they are updating their article.
Robin, I was not chatting on line but my yahoo does appear to be working. I only have a few people added in. But I did write down the ones you told me the other night on chat. Anyone else who is on yahoo my id is giglho (hollyho was already taken). That has been my nickname for at least the past 10 years with most of my friends. I was trying to stay within that somehow. The funny thing is I thought "hey I will use hollyho and then my last initial. Guess what it spells HOLLYHOG. Okay so that wouldn't work! I cracked up when I realized what I almost did.
I have the kids home today and I am babysitting one child this am and then her and her brother this afternoon. Should be nice. Having other kids keeps my kids busy. I hope this philosopy works today.
Robin, I know what you mean about your plants. I gave my roses and everything some of that boost fertilizer and my rose buses are doubling in stem size. They all have leaves on them and I would not doubt if they were to bloom soon. If this weekend doesn't kill everything!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Enjoy the sunshine, if you have it!
Holly
