FAQ

Can I have permission to lift pictures and stories off your site for my own website/newsletter/ book/ project/ school thesis ?

I'm sorry, but no.

I'm very sorry if this reply sounds harsh or cold.  But people who have posted their personal stories and photos to this website have given permission for these items to published on THIS website: www. unomas21.com.   When I've given permission in the past, it caused some controversy.

I would love to say yes, share our beautiful stories and pictures with everyone who could benefit from them.  But that has resulted in people who objected to their submissions being re-used in any format other than the Uno Mas website. It is their right to say that they submitted their pictures and words to Uno Mas only.   Whether I wish to give my personal okay to reproduce them or not ... I'm not sure it is my right to give permission. So, I must reluctantly say "No. Absolutely not."  You must get permission directly from the parent.

Uno Mas has no authority to give you permission to reproduce these photos and words anywhere else.   No matter how worthy or well-intentioned your cause, you are NOT PERMITTED to reproduce any posts, stories, transcripts, archives or photos in any other media without express permission from the author of the words, the parents of the child, or the originator of any photo.

Photos and stories have been submitted to our site by parents who have expected them to appear on this website. They have not given rights to all viewers who would like to reproduce them for whatever purpose suits their needs.  Uno Mas does not have the right to give permission for them to be re-used on other sites.

Our suggestion would be to post a message on the Message Board or Bulletin Board, asking parents if they would allow you to use their child's picture. You MUST get direct permission from the parent of the child.   Uno Mas has no such authority. Uno Mas has installed some protective "scripts" to remind thiefs that do not have permission to reprint or reuse your photos and stories.   But we cannot guarantee that these warnings will deter unethical and illegal use of posts and photos.

Please report any copyright infringements to: FRAUD@unomas21.com and we will continue to do our best to discourage internet plagarism.

Thanks,

Editor, Uno Mas! Down Sydrome Online
